BIOGRAPHY


Rachel Amodeo was Born in Terravecchia, Italy. At four years old, she traveled to the United States. She and her siblings were greeted by their parents who worked and saved for their long journey. After graduating from high school, Rachel moved to Santa Barbara, California where she attended Santa Barbara City College and majored in Photography. During this period she became a rock drummer and performed in various clubs. In 1982 Rachel moved to New York City to pursue her career as a rock drummer. She started her own band and later joined Das Furlines, the flamboyant all girl band. During this period she also studied acting with Bill Hickey at Herbert Berghof in the West Village. In 1989 Rachel started production of her film with cinematographers M. Henry Jones and Mark Brady. She wrote produced and stared in this film titled “What About Me”. The film traveled the festival circuit and was featured at London’s Institute of contemporary Arts. Its unusual ensemble of cast and characters in addition to the cinema verite portrait of the east village in the late 80’s made it a cult classic. Her film is available for sale at video stores and rentable on Netflix.


In 1998 she made her second film, a short called “Rest in Peace” set in the 1800’s and a tribute to the silent film era with double exposure special effects. She also made a film called “Peirre Paolo” Set in her hometown of Terravecchia, Italy. In 1998 she gave birth to her son Atticus and dedicated her time to being a mother full time. During this period she wrote a new screenplay, working title “Rock N Roll Gangster” based on her experiences in New York.


WHAT ABOUT ME was written, produced and directed by Rachel Amodeo. She plays the lead role as “Lisa,” who ends up homeless and Drifting in New York City. REST IN PEACE was written, produced and directed by Rachel Amodeo.(Available on Netflix) under extras on “What About Me” DVD. She plays the leadrole as Mable Dibble, Ghost who haunts her sister. PIERRE PAOLO was written, produced and directed by Rachel Amodeo.(Available on Netflix) under extras on “What About Me” DVD. She plays the lead role, Philimina as a young women. RACHEL AMODEO has co produced eleven animated television commercials.As a musician, she was the drummer for Vacuum Bag and Das Furlines, who appeared on Entertainment Tonight, MTV’s Andy Warhol’s 15 Minutes and were featured in People Magazine. She is now writing her new Screenplay “Rock N Roll Gangster”
